Design for Print has produced a number of fully illustrated art exhibition catalogues for the River & Rowing Museum in Henley-on-Thames. The briefs have required efficient use of tight budgets as well as the development of attractive layouts which compliment the exhibition subjects. For the second of two shows featuring the English painter John Piper (1903-92) we used the quintessentially English typeface Gill Sans Serif, paying particular attention to the typographic expression of the many different kinds of text required in an art catalogue.
