We were contacted by Cascade Biochem, a small chemicals company specialising in active pharmaceutical ingredients. The company was seeking a new identity which would symbolise its commitment to the production of high quality pharmaceutical ingredients. We developed a simple but highly effective visual identity scheme and applied it across a complete range of printed materials, subsequently working on a series of highly technical chemicals pricelists. The logotype is based on chemical structures and is also reminiscent of laboratory glassware. It was combined with the clean geometric letterforms of Futura Sans and a colour scheme using cool blues. Cascade was recently sold for several millions to Johnson Matthey Limited.
