the cottage

Design for Print is based in the Thameside village of Sonning, at a picturesque 17th century cottage. We like to think attractive surroundings make for more creative design decisions and the design of this site has been influenced by the character of our location.

about Design for Print

Design for Print began trading in 1984. The service we provide is comprehensive, ranging, for example, from the design of a single business card to the development of a complete range of brochures for a company's entire product range. Typically we meet with you to establish a detailed understanding of your needs and ensure that you agree with that understanding before we begin work. Unlike some designers, we work collaboratively with our clients ensuring a smooth development of finished projects, from initial design ideas to the delivery of the finished work. Our skills include marketing, copy editing, picture research, photography, typographic and graphic design. Our client base has been equally diverse, ranging from non-profit public sector organisations, including the EU, through global corporations to one-person start- up businesses. However, although our expertise is wide, the service we provide is tailored to your exact requirements and budget.

His freelance work has included book design commissions for publishers like Routledge and Macmilllan. He has worked as a journalist and photographer. He teaches part-time at Department of Typography and Graphic Communication. Outside work he is Chairman of Eye & Dunsden Parish Council and an environmentalist wannabee despite being an enthusiast for regular cultural trips to France, Italy and elsewhere.
